How do I generate citations while writing?

With Paperguide’s built-in Reference Manager, you can add citations for your references directly while writing and even cite papers from public research databases.

To generate in-text citations, highlight any section of text and click the Cite button to open our Citation Manager.

You can also use the "@" keyboard shortcut to open our Citation Manager.

  • Place the cursor where you want to cite on the Cite button on the toolbar (or) type “@.”

    1. Then, a citation manager dialog opens.

    2. It includes two tabs: My References and Research Database

Cite Papers from References

  • My References tab includes the papers stored in your reference manager.

  • Search the paper from your references that you need to cite.

  • Then, click on the + Cite button.

Search & Cite Papers from Public Research Database:

  • You can search papers from the public database from this tab.

  • Search the paper by title in the research database that you need to cite. And click on the + Cite button.
