Connecting your reference manager to AI features

Use the papers you've saved in Research Agent, Literature Review, Systematic Review, Extract Data and AI Writer.

Overview

Your library doesn't just store papers. Save a paper once, and you can use it everywhere in Paperguide.

Research Agent and Literature Review

Ask questions or generate a literature review from the papers you've saved, instead of searching public papers.

Choose your library as the source

Below the question box, click the source button (it shows Public Research Papers by default) and choose Reference Manager.

Pick the papers

Choose the folder or papers to use.

Ask your question

Type your question and send it. The answer, or the literature report, is based on your chosen papers.

See Research Agent and Literature Review Agent.

Systematic Review

Bring papers from your library into a systematic review to screen them. On the review's Papers page, click Add Papers, choose Reference manager, and pick the folder or papers to add.

See Systematic Review.

Extract Data

Pull the key data from your papers into a table. Click Select References, choose the folder or papers from your library, and Paperguide extracts the data into columns you can add to, such as sample size.

See Extract Data.

AI Writer

Write with citations that come straight from your library. In a document, click Cite, search for the paper and add the citation.

See AI Writer.

Inside Reference Manager

You can also work with papers without leaving your library:

  • AI Chat in the toolbar lets you chat with the papers in the current view, or with the papers you've selected.
  • The Chat tab in a paper's detail panel lets you chat with that one paper.
  • Cite copies a paper's full citation or in-text citation.
  • Export downloads papers as BibTeX (.bib) or RIS (.ris) to use in other tools.

Some tools can only use papers that have a PDF attached, or in some cases an abstract. When you pick papers, a tip tells you if one can't be selected and why. See Get PDFs with the Chrome Extension.
